John Furey is the Principal and Founder of Advisor Growth Strategies, a firm that delivers customized solutions for wealth management firms seeking to aggressively grow their businesses and financial advisors considering becoming independent. Mr. Furey is widely considered to be an industry leading expert in the areas of breakaway advisors and independent advisor practice management. He has authored a number of industry research reports, white papers and articles and is a noted speaker at conferences and events.
Prior to founding Advisor Growth Strategies, John was the managing director of Strategic Business Development for the Institutional enterprise of Charles Schwab & Co. In his most recent role, he built and led Schwab’s national program to recruit new financial advisors from the wirehouse channel, including developing Schwab’s marketing, sales and platform capabilities.
Mr. Furey earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from the State University of New York and an MBA from Arizona State University (ASU). He holds FINRA Series 7,24, and 65 licenses, and is active with industry associations including the Financial Planning Association (FPA®) and the Investment Management Consulting Association (IMCA).
